What to do with your days of empty hours when they have been so full of swimming every morning at the local gym, grocery shopping, going to the quilt store, etc.? What do I love to do? Sewing! So when this lockdown started, I started making masks. First one was the pleated one. Then I went to a pattern where I needed a template.

It was pretty easy but I got bored with it, plus I kept slicing little pieces off the cardboard. Then I went to another template that was curved. It was a little harder and the template kept getting smaller!

I then went to a straight forward pattern with no template, much easier! Now I’m going to try another pattern. We will see if this one is better, faster, or easier. So far I have made about 300 masks that I have sent to Rotary friends, family, Enchanted Rock State Park rangers, the local hospital, retirement homes, folks who work with the homeless, and others.

Hope you are finding your passion in this strange time we are in. I definitely needed this opportunity to sew!!
