It has been a great month for The Rotary Club of San Marcos. A number of organizations were supported by funds raised by fellow Rotarians including the local YSB and School Fuel. School Fuel was presented with a $5,000 check, the funds became available through a matching grant from Rotary District #5840 known as a District Simplified Grant.
School Fuel serves more than 700 students who have a high-risk of little or no food at home. On average the cost is about $215 per student for the whole school year. We know each dollar donated will be making a difference.

In October a number of guest speakers were hosted weekly with the special privilege of Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra giving a proclamation for the #150MinutesOfPeace Global campaign in honor of peaceful actions with the reflection of the150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday.

Another big highlight was the first-ever ”Pints for Polio Pub crawl,” hosted by the Rotary Club of San Marcos. Our goal was to raise $1000 for Rotary’s Polio Plus campaign. Instead, with sponsorship donations from participating pubs - AquaBrew, Shady Llama, and Middleton Brewery; plus tips from participants -nearly $1500 was generated. We have a new Facebook page and would encourage you to like our page.  https://www.facebook.com/Rotary-of-San-Marcos-107329240681927/
