As a Rotarian, you have the ability to help make someone’s graduate education (Master’s or PhD.) a reality.  How, you ask?  By identifying a person to apply for a Rotary District 5840 Global Education Grant.  The grant is for a minimum of $30,000 for a college graduate to study anywhere in the world outside the United States.
 
All the information is on the Rotary District 5840 website.  Simply go to www.Rotary5840.org
Once you are on the website, click on “Foundation” on the top bar.  “ Scholarships” will dropdown from “Foundation”.  Once “Scholarships” appear, mouse over “Scholarships” and “Global Grant Scholarship” will appear to side of “Scholarships.”  Click on “Global Grant Scholarship.”

Several documents relating to Club responsibilities.  The grant is funded by District Designated Funds and the World Fund.
Several documents pertaining to Global Grant Scholarship files – here you can obtain the application, checklist and additional information about the grant requirements. 
Persons in the following categories are ineligible: a) a Rotarian or Honorary Rotarian; b) an employee of a Rotary Club or District, of Rotary International, or of another Rotary-affiliated entity; c) a spouse, a lineal descendant (child or grandchild by blood or adoption, a spouse of a lineal descendant, or an ancestor (parent or grandparent by blood) of any living person in categories (a) (b); and Rotarians and their relatives as described above remain ineligible for 36 month after resignation.
 
Application deadline:  November 19. 2022
In-person interviews:  December 3, 2022
Training in Houston (expenses paid by District):  January 2023
