The D6270 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee encourages us to reflect on what it is like to walk in someone else's shoes, if they were not born here in the U.S.  Unless you and your family are descendants of Native Americans, your ancestors were either an immigrant (wanted to leave their home country) or a refugee (forced to leave their home country) when they arrived.

This topic is very relevant and important as we have recently welcomed new refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Our next session is, “Challenges Refugees Face When Coming Here”. We will have panelists representing people who immigrated here and others who were refugees. Our panelists will be sharing their personal stories of overcoming either language, cultural, religious and/or racial barriers. We will provide time for Q&A from our audience.

Please join us to learn more about our new neighbors and gain some insight about our original ancestors. Feel free to invite non-Rotarian friends and supporters who may be interested in this topic by sharing the registration link with them.
