Tumwater Rotary and the City of Tumwater dedication for Jim Brown Park. Jim Brown, known as Mr. Tumwater, was a charter member of Tumwater. The club started in 1951. Jim was an active member until his death in 2014.

The city named a neighbor park in his honer almost 20 years ago. Jim was alive at this time and was very humble. Recently the club realized the Jim Brown legacy was fading, so we went to work with the Parks Department to tell Jim’s story.

June 29th the neighborhood assembled, along with Mayor Pete Kemet and Jim’s family. Tumwater Rotary provided lunch. It was great day in Tumwater as everyone shared a story about Jim’s life.
