President Doyle started his Rotary year with a work party project and he ended it the same way, just as he wanted!
Five years ago our club assisted in the building of the Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre, mainly by staining the building.  This morning we helped the Centre again with a new coat of stain.  This centre is a wonderful resource to our community, teaching children and students alike about the importance of the local ecosystems and specifically on the importance of the well being of our waterways.

But that’s not all!  We also had an official cheque presentation of $10,000 to Cowichan Pregnancy Food Connection Program.  We have been working with the local public health nurses for several years to help provide sufficient protein nutrition to pregnant moms in the community who are in need.

We were joined for a great BBQ lunch by our local grade 12 scholarship recipients.  Our club gives out $15,000 annually to our students.

I think President Doyle summed things up very nicely:

“My one year term as Rotary Club of Duncan President is coming to an end. Today, my Rotarian friends and I had an epic day. We stained the Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre building, wrote a $10,000 cheque to help new moms and hosted some of the 18 students who received over $15,000 in scholarships and bursaries from our club.   Being club president this year has been an honour. Thank you so much to all of you!”
