Dear World Community Service Chairs

A recent visit to Ivory Coast reminded me again, how fortunate we are living in a world where we can satisfy almost all our needs.

This month is designated as Water and Sanitation Month by Rotary International.
Many public places such as markets, bus stops, etc. in Ivory Coast don’t have sanitary provisions and it is quite common for the people to do their needs in the open. In the recent past we have seen what kind of a health disaster –Ebola- this might cause.

In case you and your committee are searching for a project to undertake, I like to recommend that you review the attached information about the “Latrine Block” project.
Hopefully it will appeal to you and it would be wonderful if your WCS Committee and club like to join us in realizing this so much needed project.

The Rotary Club of Campbell River has taken the lead and so far 5 other clubs have joined us in this effort. Besides there is a District in Australia as well 5 clubs in the States of different Districts are partnering as well.

Please contact me when you are interested to put the deeds forward in this Water & Sanitation Month.
Feel free to contact me when you need more information.

Your consideration is much appreciated!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Pieter Koeleman
