As you are aware, when children are given the polio vaccine, their pinky finger is painted purple to show they have been vaccinated.  The Purple Pinky event is done in the schools
and is an awareness event to educate children, and their parents, about polio and polio immunization.  The awareness is done by sending a permission slip home, for parents to agree that their child can have their pinky painted. Families are asked for a small donation, if they can afford it.  At the schools, children are given information on polio and polio immunization.  At the end, their pinky is painted.  Please tell me if your club wants to be part of this event, and advise if you are interested in working on the district organizing group for this activity.
