Did you know:
  • The goal of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative is to ensure that no child will ever again know the crippling effects of polio.
  • The Global Polio Eradication Initiative is the largest public health initiative the world has ever known.
  • As of September 24, it has been 7 months and 28 days since a child was last paralyzed by the Wild Polio Virus anywhere in the World!!!
#EndPolioNow is not just wishful thinking!

Now is the time, an amazing chance to do something great for the world!
Be creative in raising awareness and funds for PolioPlus this year, add a new twist!
Your club can celebrate by partnering with your local ice cream shop, raising funds on the purchase of pints of ice cream OR with your local brew spot to raise funds on pints of beer. You, your Rotary club and partners can create lasting change eradicating polio one pint at a time!

Or organize a walk/run for polio and more. Find help in the End Polio Now Resource Center at https://www.endpolio.org/resource-center

Don't miss the story in your October Rotary magazine, an interview with Aidan O'Leary, the polio eradication director for the World Health Organization. His is a message of optimism with a sense of urgency and a realistic view of where we are today and the strategy forward. "The message is simple: A polio-free world is within reach. There is an opportunity, and now is the time to stay the course."
