This is the last newsletter of the Rotary year under DG Gregg Giusiana. It was quite a year indeed! We all weathered and survived the Covid-19 pandemic shelter in place, and now here we are slowly getting back to normalcy. This, however, did not stop the clubs from hosting virtual club meetings, fundraisers, community projects and supporting the local community seniors, homeless and students during that time.

The Public Image Committee of 2020-21 accomplished a great deal during the Rotary year. We introduced a new tool, the Public Image Guidebook, held monthly training sessions and connected with the clubs and at the same time, made great connections!

We hope and encourage all Club Public Image Chairs and Website/Social Media chairs to make use of this tool. It is an easy path to the RI Brand Center and identifies the key areas of focus in Public Image – with direction and guidance, that is meant to help and support you as a Rotary Brand Ambassador.

I had the opportunity to work and engage with clubs in Area 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 during the year with projects they are doing for their local communities and working with me in getting their stories out to the local media.

It was encouraging and impressive what all clubs have accomplished during those difficult times and learned how to pivot and use creative thinking to keep their club and activities going!

Public Image Training

We held workshops each month during the course of the year, Public Image best practices and fundamentals that included:

Public Image Guidebook “how to” demo
Branding best practices
How to Write a Press Release
How to Write a Club Communications Plan
Facebook Level I, II
ClubRunner

Our goal as a Public Image Committee and #1 priority is working with our District Clubs in getting their stories out and develop higher visibility within their local communities! It demonstrates that Rotary is still out there regardless, helping, volunteering and supporting during these difficult times. The last point is the news attracts local attention, and local interest for potential MEMBERSHIP!

We are not done yet and still have a great deal of work and training to do with the new Rotary year under Richard Flanders as our incoming District Governor. I will continue my role as District Public Image Chair for 2021-22 and will announce a new team very soon!

Lastly, it was indeed an honor and a pleasure working and collaborating with all of you!
