We wanted to bring to your attention an email circulating purportedly from President Rassin asking for donations to help the grieving families of victims in the recent shootings in Christchurch. These are definitely not an authentic Rotary communication but a phishing attempt sent from a different email address.

While such phishing attempts are impossible to prevent for email addresses that are publicly available, we encourage all parties to exercise caution and disregard any content that requests money or personal information. It is also helpful to pay close attention to the detail of the sender’s email address and signature to confirm authenticity, and avoid opening attachments or clicking on links from emails that are suspect. If you ever have questions as to whether an email is authentic, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please feel free to circulate this advisory to your clubs and other district officers.
