The Vancouver Hub portion of the Imagine Canada Rotary tour will be on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones, and husband Nick Krayacich, will be pick up early at the airport and will go directly to Richmond for a dedication of a Peace Park / Garden.  Mayor Malcolm Brodie will present ha Proclamation on Peace  and trees will be planted in the garden area, with one of the trees to named after and in honour of President Jennifer. 
 
President Jennifer and Nick will then join us in White Rock for a big public celebration.  The public is invited to join us starting at 9:30 in the area right next to the famous White Rock Pier.  We'll have a large stage and three bands to entertain the crowds.  Rotarians and partner organizations, such as Days for Girls, will have tents and displays.  We will also have some official Rotary tour gear available for purchase from Creative Embroidery (you can also pre-order tour gear - just CLICK HERE for the order form).
 
          
                   
 
President Jennifer is expected to arrive around 10:30 at which time the formal part of the program will begin.  White Rock Mayor and Rotarian, Darryl Walker, will bring official greetings.  Afterwards, Jennifer will visit the displays and have a meet and greet with those attending. 
 
We are having a family friendly event, with food trucks and nearby restaurants as you enjoy the day and our three bands.  
 
Around noon, President Jennifer will lead us in our service project - a beach clean up with Ocean Wise Conservation Society.  Click the graphic for more information on Ocean Wise.
 
               
 
The White Rock beach clean up and celebration will continue until 2:00, but President Jennifer will be leaving at 12:30 to visit the Aboriginal Mother's Centre in Vancouver, where Write to Read has recently installed a Learning Centre.  Write To Read has installed computer labs and libraries throughout BC and was created by Rotarian Bob Blacker and former BC Lieutenant Governor (and Rotarian) Steven Point.

              
 
In the evening, President Jennifer will be joining the Vancouver Rotary Club to celebrate their 37th annual bike-a-thon fundraiser - Rotary Ride For Hearing.  Their goal is to raise $6 million for a hearing centre  at the new St. Paul's Hospital.  Click the picture for tickets and event information.
