This year, in keeping with the wishes of Rotary International President Ian Riseley, we are focusing on empowering women in our district.  To that end we are undertaking a visioning and strategic planning process that will guide us for the next 3 years or longer.
The process is being led by Carol Horner. Myself, Carol, Yolanda Hoffman and Rob Simmons met recently and decided to start with training volunteers in something called appreciative Inquiry.  A number of people have been invited to a training which will take place on February 24th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Champions Run, 13800 Eagle Run Drive, Omaha. We would be conducting interviews in March and hold a summit in April leading to the creation of a long range plan.  The overarching purpose of this process is to empower more women to join Rotary, and assume leadership positions at all levels of the organization: club, district, zone and in other capacities as change makers.
