Ok, maybe a dunk booth — anyone know what Jessica or Lance are doing on Friday, May 10th? District 5750 is having a fundraiser to build a handicapped-accessible ropes course at the RYLA camp. We want to allow all the attendees to fully enjoy and learn from the camp. Just think how beneficial and fun an accessible ropes course will be for Oklahoman youths to develop their skills as leaders. We need to raise $150,000 to build the course at the Guthrie Rotary youth camp. This sum may seem like an insurmountable task but it is nothing compared to the challenges that our handicapped youths must face and overcome daily. At this point nearly $100,000 has been raised! As Rotarians, you understand the future of our country is our children. So we are asking you to come out, bring your family or bring a couple of non-Rotarians so they can experience what we do to help our communities and people around the world. As clubs rarely we get an opportunity to meet and just have fun. Let’s build better friendships, enjoy great food, sing around the fire and just laugh together. Join us for a hayride, cookout, bonfire, and fellowship on May 10th from 6pm – 8pm at 1 Twin Cedar Lane, Guthrie, OK 73044. Tickets are $50 each so buy 4 and bring friends. For tickets contact Jack Werner at 405-406-1790 and make your donations payable to 5750 Rotary Foundation. If you are unable to make it, donations are accepted. A handicapped accessible ropes course will instill a sense of accomplishment and leadership in young people that will probably never have a similar opportunity. They will remember this all their lives.
