Dear Friends,

Most all of you have heard me talk about attending a Rotary International Convention. They are amazing events! I have attended five of them and I know several others have been to conventions in the past. This year's convention was going to be in Honolulu. I will tell you that the biggest impediments to attending these amazing events are:

• Cost -- It generally costs $300 - $400 just to register. Hotels cost $100 - $300 a night. Meals are $$$$$

• Time -- You will need a week just to attend the convention, not including any extra tours, etc. • Travel -- Well... you can't DRIVE to Hawaii! Plane fare is $$$$ and do you REALLY want to travel in a plane now?

The COVID-19 crisis has allowed Rotary to evolve and offer a virtual convention, something I have pushed for more than five years. Quite frankly, I am not sure how it will work, but I invite you to participate. Traveling is great! However, this convention is FREE, and you can watch it from your bedroom, living room, or office. If you have a MyRotary login you can participate in this convention. Just go to: https://www.riconvention.org/en/ honolulu

Finally, keep in mind that all the sessions are being recorded so that if you miss one, you can go back to the RI website and see it later.

Let's all participate in what I believe will be the future of Rotary's Conventions!
