Gumbuya World won the 2019 Casey Cardinia Business of the Year award, as well as the Casey Cardinia Tourism award at the Gala Dinner held on Friday 18th October.

Rotary District 9820 held the Gumbuya World Family Fun Day on Sunday 20th October.  Approximately 130 Rotarians, family members and friends registered for the event.

Although it was a cloudy day with a chill breeze blowing, the attendees enjoyed the excellent facilities, which included the Wildlife Trail, 11 exciting rides at Outback Explorer and water world in the Oasis Springs section.

Many people braved the water sports, which looked so tempting that I thought of trying them myself, but common sense prevailed.

Witnesses reported that DGE Mark Humphries really enjoyed the Chair-o-plane ride and was seen waving his arms and legs wildy, as the ride achieved full speed.

Rotary had an impressive range of banners on display and they were strategically placed near the stage and cafe areas.

A fun day was had by all, despite the chill factor.  On a warm sunny day the experience would have been totally amazing.

A big thank you to all those who helped to put the day together.
