Rob Marks has celebrated 50 years service to Rotary.

Rob joined Rotary in 1967 and has been a member of five clubs, Bayswater, Chelsea (President 1973/74) Carrum (Charter President 1978/80) Burnside SA (President 1989/90).

Rob had a career in banking and held a number of managerial posts before retiring as State Manager, Branch Support (SA & NT Division) with the Westpac Bank in 1991.

In March 1992, Rob joined the Mt Martha Club and has served a number of years on the club board as Secretary, Foundation Director and Vice President. He has served in multiple roles within the club service areas, notably as the Rotary Foundation Centurion program chair.

At District 9820 level, Rob was selected to the position of District Governor in 1995-1996 and during his year Rotarians were asked to respond to the theme of the World President `Act with integrity, serve with love, work for peace'. He also served as the Rotary Foundation District Co-Ordinator and was a strong supporter of the Group Study Exchange program.

Together with his wife Yvonne they have been great supporters of the programs and ideals of Rotary International, especially District 9820 and the Rotary Club of Mount Martha. Both have indeed given `Service above Self'.

Congratulations to Rob on this wonderful achievement.
