Congratulations on being a Rotarian leader. As PEs and PENs you, and your respective clubs, are the face of Rotary, day in and day out.

Too often we don’t pause to think about the impact Rotary has had with your District’s 53 clubs and 2800 members. Imagine what communities in our four states would be like without Rotary volunteers and community betterment projects. As PEs and PENs you have an awesome opportunity—carry on good works and lasting friendships.

While your year ahead will be fleeting, from my experience as a past president, I know that preparation for the July 1, 2020 start begins now, not in May.  So here are some requests.

  1. TOP PRIORITY. Sign up for and attend PETS (High Country President Elect Training Seminar) February 28-March 1, 2020; 5 states/6 Rotary Districts/ 450 plus attendees; Denver Renaissance Hotel. Meet Rotary International President Elect Holger Knaack and board member Johrita Solari. PETS is Rotary 1 to make your year a GREAT YEAR!
  2. SECOND OPPORTUNITIES. Be mindful and always look for District specific meetings—Annual Conference, Spring and Fall Assemblies. Great opportunities to interact with dedicated Rotarians like yourself.

I know you can have a great year as PE or PEN. It begins with registering and attending PETS. The February 28-March 1 training is an essential building block for your year as a Rotary leader. The Registration flyer is on the way. Don’t delay. Registration is for PETS training; registration at the Renaissance Hotel is separate.

I look forward to seeing you at PETS and working with you in the years to come. Current District Governor Chris Woodruff and Shurie Scheel forward to connecting with you on February 28, 2020.

Don’t hesitate to call or email me if you have any questions or advice.
