2016-2017 Award Winning Rincon Rotary Welcomes New President Jack Heald  Tucson, AZ June  29, 2017
District Governor Joe Hentges inducted Jack Heald as this year's 50th anniversary Rincon Rotary President and congratulated outgoing President Dave Rickert for achievements of this past year-- winning a Presidential Citation and an award for the Largest Membership Increase in d5500.

 
Record of Achievement:
  • Rotary Local: funded 42 projects in eight school districts around Tucson- nearly a thousand students have had a better educational experience!
  • Rotary Assist: with matching Rincon Foundation funding,provided money for Polio Epic, Dragonfly Village, Arizona
  • Trails,and TMC Children's Gifts!
  • Taste of Chocolate:Ninth Annual Taste of Chocolate raised over $27,000 to help with club Projects,primarily LOCAL!
  • Solar Suitcases: Delivered Solar Suitcases to Kenya and Peru-providing electricity to schools where none existed before!
  • RYLA:Record number of students attended RYLA with club members assisting! Social Media: 39 Press Releases- two TV appearances- 60+ Facebook posts!
  • District Support: Wendy Hobbs serves as District Executive Assistant Governor; Tom Eiff as Global Rewards Chair! Veterans Projects: Club members donated to Bringing Heroes Home; also club programs on Museums&Memories and Missing Man Table!

 

Rotary International is a global service organization,operating in over 130 countries with 1.2 million members and

35,000 local clubs.  Rotary initiated the international effort to eliminate polio around the world;since the mid- 1980's Rotary has contributed $1.1billion to the $11billion undertaking.  Countless children have been saved from the scourges of polio because individual Rotarians have helped distribute over 2 billion doses of the vaccine in 122 countries.

 

The Rincon Rotary Club meets at 12:10 p.m. Thursdays at the Tucson Country Club.
