The Dover Rotary sponsors The Dover Public Library's "Little Tornadoes Reading Club" each year. The reading club targets "reluctant readers," namely boys and aims to get them excited about reading by using football and the Dover High School Tornadoes football program as a means to do that. We do get plenty of girls though!  The kids (grades 3-5) are challenged to read a series of football related books and then are rewarded in many ways. We have the captains from the high school football team come to the library for a special Gridiron Storytime. The captains read to the kids, sign autographs, etc. Those that finish the reading program get a special membership card, a members-only t-shirt, and are invited to run out onto the field at Crater Stadium at a Friday night football game.
