Honestly, the Rittman club has been struggling the last couple of years to gain and retain members from the community. Quite a few of us are from surrounding towns. However, that has not slowed us down from completing some excellent projects.
Our 2017 scholarship was awarded to a very deserving student, Sean Bise. He will be attending Ohio Northern University this fall.
We have also finished the current phase of our "Taking Back First Street Park” project. As there had been enough negative and drug activity in the park to warrant an article on WKYC TV recently, we have installed security cameras in the pavilion which are able to capture the entire park and are monitored by the police department. The next phase will be some historical markers and a sensory play wall near the handicap swing Rotary installed last year.
