In the 2014-15 Rotary year the clubs and Rotarians in our district were very generous. We went to the clubs numerous times to ask for their participation in several projects we worked on during the course of the year. They responded in the following manner:

Donations from more than 30 clubs towards the Global Grant to equip the Solid Rock Therapeutic Riding Center (solidrocktrc.com) to better help our military veterans and first responders totaled over $17,000. When added to the monies from our District Fund and districts and clubs in India, as well as the matches from The Rotary Foundation, the grant totaled $113,000.

Donations from clubs and individual Rotarians to the relief effort after the Nepal earthquakes totaled $20,000. We purchased 3 Shelter Boxes at first, then used the remaining donations to buy food and medicine for the earthquake victims. We partnered with a club in Nepal with which we had a previous relationship, to ensure that the money was used where it was most needed.

Donations from 12 clubs for the Apac Water Project in Uganda totaled $9700. That project will provide safe drinking water to many villages in the Apac region. That $9700 actually became $24,250 after two matching grants.

Donations to the End Polio Now campaign in 2014-15 totaled $34,646.00

A big Thank You to all the clubs and Rotarians who demonstrated once again that, in District 6650, Service Above Self is more than just a catchy slogan.
