Peace in Nigeria

Building peace and helping refugees in Nigeria The Rotary Club of Yola-AUN is located on the campus of the American University of Nigeria, smack dab in the region where Boko Haram is most active. Club members, who include a good number of University professors and staff, know the importance of peace. The club is working with Rotary members from New England to help families living in a refugee camp, displaced by the violence.

	Team returns from Immunization Day trip to India Five Rotary staff members have returned from their week-long trip to India, where they joined volunteers and health workers in the field, getting an up close look at our polio eradication program in action. 	ERADICATING POLIO
	Nigeria reclassified as polio endemic Nigeria has returned to the list of polio-endemic countries, following the World Health Organization’s confirmation of three cases of wild poliovirus in the northeastern state of Borno in August. While this news is disappointing, there has been significant progress toward ending polio in Nigeria, the rest of the African continent, and globally.
