On February 10, 2018 the Natick Rotary Club is hosting a benefit dinner to raise funds and awareness on the growing opioid epidemic in their community.  The event, held at the Community-Senior Center from 6-9pm will feature speakers from the Town of Natick Opioid Task Force along with Cheryle Lucenta, Co-Founder of Soar Natick and Christine Guthery of Spark Kindness and the Charles River Rotary Club.

The proceeds from the dinner, which will include Live Entertainment, Buffet Dinner and Silent Auction will benefit the Natick Rotary Charitable Corporation’s Opioid Fund.  Tickets for the event are $50 and this evening is open to anyone interested in learning more about the challenges of fighting the opioid epidemic and how Rotarians can help.

For more than 90 years, the Rotary Club of Natick’s members have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. The opioid crisis is now front and center stage for us and we have already started to make an impact in the community by:

•Working with the Natick Police and Town Administration to pay for shipping of prescription drugs to be destroyed
•Working with the Opioid Task Force to develop a communication strategy and helping to offset printing cost for educational material
•Sponsoring educational opportunities featuring leaders in the opioid addiction community to raise awareness throughout the community

However, we’ve only just begun and there is much more work to do.

Sponsorships are available for companies that wish to get involved in the fight against opioids.  For more information please email Eric Lazzari at elazzari62@gmail.com.
