We were honored at District Governor Karin’s installation on Saturday evening  to be able to make some awards for the 2016-17 Rotary Year. The first award was the Rotary Foundation award for Meritorious Service. This was given to PDG Bob Cassidy of the Bedford Rotary Club. It was certainly a well deserved honor.

The next awards were the Best Club awards which are  based on the scores that clubs achieve as they go about their daily activities as Rotary Clubs in our District. These scores are noted on a worksheet, submitted to our awards committee, and tallied up . Over 20 clubs sent their worksheets in this year and the competition was great.  The Bronze (third place) award went to The Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley. The Silver (second place) award went to the Rotary Club of Worcester. The Gold (first place) award went to the Rotary Club of Westborough.

Still to be announced are the following awards based on the same scoring sheets, Youth  Service award, Vocational Service award, International Service award, Club Growth award, Club Service award,Promoting Rotary Award, and Community Service award first , second and third place. These awards will all be announced as soon as the tallying is completed and they will be awarded at meetings of the receiving clubs.

Our thanks to all who participated,
