Are you pursuing a full-time graduate degree?  Are you a full-time undergraduate entering your Junior or Senior year in college studying (a) journalism, (b) assistance to people with disabilities, or (c) environmental studies?  Will your proposed course of study lead to a degree?  Then you may be eligible for a Rotary District 7490’s Walter D. Head Foundation scholarship up to $10,000.
 
 
 
The Walter D. Head Foundation, founded in 1965, serves as the District’s charitable arm for projects sponsored by the clubs within our Rotary district.  Besides offering scholarships, the Foundation awards supplemental grants to Rotary clubs throughout Bergen, Passaic and Hudson Counties which have combined forces to make a difference in their communities.  Projects that the Walter D. Head Foundation has supported in the past include aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy, the Military Family Assistance Center, which provides food to families of soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and sponsorship for building a garden at a regional mental health center.
 
         Only residents from within Rotary District 7490, encompassing Bergen, Passaic and Hudson counties in New Jersey,including Rotarians and their family members, are eligible to apply for either the graduate or undergraduate fellowships.  Children of Rotarians in District 7490 may also apply, even if the Rotarian’s principal residence is outside the territorial limits of the District. Full-time undergraduate students may receive funding only for their third or fourth year of study.  The Foundation will award a grant of up to $10,000.00 payable directly to the school.
