Please join us for the 35th Annual New Jersey Vocational Assembly on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Pines Manor in Edison, NJ. This unique event brings together Rotary leadership, Rotarians and guests from across the five Districts of New Jersey to celebrate our vocational service and commitment to high ethical standards.

RI President T.A. Warren (1945-46) said, “The only unique feature of Rotary is Vocational Service. Everything else we do is repeated by every other recognized service organization.” The late Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, an honorary Rotarian, repeated that statement when he appeared at the 1985 and 1989 Assemblies.

The New Jersey State Vocational Assembly began in 1981, when two visionary Rotarians, Past District Governor Bob Pityo and Past Director and Treasurer, the late Carmine Torsiello organized the first Vocational Assembly. District 7470 served as first host, and the Assembly has continued annually for 35 years, with each of our five NJ Districts hosting in succession. This Assembly is being hosted by District 7500 and is being chaired by DGE Deborah Horner.

At the Assembly, an outstanding Rotarian, duly nominated and chose from each district, will be individually recognized and honored for exemplifying Vocational Service and for demonstrating high ethical standards through his and her business or profession. Since 1985, more than a dozen sitting Rotary International Presidents have acted as keynote speakers, a tribute to what was begun by two individuals in 1981. This year we are honored by Dr. Robert Scott as our keynote speaker.

New Jersey is the only state in the Rotary world to sponsor a Vocational Assembly in which every club in the state participates.
