RED HOOK ROTARY SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR 2014 SCHOLARSHIPS

The Rotary Club of Red Hook is pleased to announce that the club will award two scholarships of $1,000 each to students planning to attend a two or four year program.

Each applicant must be a graduating senior and a legal resident of the Red Hook Central School District, Pine Plains School District or Germantown Central School District.

Each student selected for an award must successfully complete their senior year and attend a post-secondary school of his or her choice. Scholarship awards will be distributed to the student to reimburse the student for any educational expense (eg. tuition, books, computer, etc.).

The award is based on academic ability (top 20% of class), leadership ability, involvement in community service activities, and communication skills of the student.
Credentials of the scholarship applicants will include the following:

1. Completed scholarship application package
2. An up-to-date transcript
3. Three (3) references; one of the letters MUST be from your school guidance counselor

A selection committee composed of members of the Red Hook Rotary Club will review your completed application package. The committee will base its decision not only on the essay response to this application, but also on the applicant’s history as a student.

Interviews will be arranged with the semifinalists and conducted at your school district with Red Hook Rotary members.

Application forms may be obtained from the Guidance Office at your high school. Completed forms MUST be mailed to RED HOOK ROTARY CLUB, Post Office Box 88, Red Hook, NY 12571. ATTN: LINDA GREENBLATT, by APRIL 1, 2014.
