World Rivers Day, September 26, 2021 is a global celebration of the world's waterways, which is observed the last Sunday in September.

As your District Governor for the 2021-2022 year, I want to encourage all clubs to research and plan a river cleanup event.  Established in 2005, World Rivers Day highlights the many values of rivers and strives to increase public awareness while encouraging the improved stewardship of rivers around the world.

Rivers in every country face an array of threats and World Rivers Day promotes the active involvement of citizens to ensure the health of rivers in the years ahead.  For more information on setting up an event, please contact:
