Well, another successful RYLA Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders is in the books! It was an amazing Seminar—we were absolutely blown away by the energy and enthusiasm of both the leaders and the students! The activities discussions were impactful, the speakers were engaging and inspiring, and we've already heard that at least one student wants to do it again next year!
We'd like to thank all of the clubs who continue to sponsor students to attend the Seminar each year. We know there were some bumps in the road this year, due to both covid and the event being virtual as well as to the Satellite Club of London helping organize it for the first time, and we truly appreciate your patience and cooperation in helping to recruit students for this high-quality program and experience.
We recommend that you reach out to your sponsored student(s) and ask them to present to your club about their experience at this year's Seminar. It's a great way for them to continuing practicing their leadership skills, and also a great way for you to stay connected to them. We also recommend that you consider getting them involved in Interact, Rotary Youth Exchange, or Rotaract, as these are prime candidates for these wonderful Rotary programs. If your club doesn't have one or any of these programs, contact another local club who does so you can refer the students! Finally, we recommend that you keep in contact with these students! Invite them to your meetings, Christmas party, summer BBQ, fundraisers, and service projects—they are motivated and inspiring young people who may one day become Rotarians, if we commit to nurturing and fostering their interest in Service Above Self. Some of them may reach out to you on their own, but don't wait—reach out to them and get the ball rolling!
Last but not least, save the date! We have tentatively scheduled RYLA Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders (RSFTL) 2022 for May 13-15, 2022. And, if all goes well—it'll be an in-person event!
