For a number of years, Rotary Festival City Stratford has had a fundraising Eat In Spaghetti Dinner. With Covid restrictions, that did not happen this year for the 3rd year in a row. We settled on a Drive Thru Smoked Pork Chop Dinner on May 2. Each item on the menu, and it’s packaging, was carefully selected, even at increased cost, to maximize what could be recycled and/or composted with only 3 small items destined for land fill.
As an educational tool for our 800 guests, we included a piece of paper outlining how to environmentally deal with each item of the takeout dinner. We will share this paper with all of the Optimists Clubs and the Agricultural Society in our area, as they each have fund raising take out dinners, so we can all be environmentally responsible in our fundraising to support our community.
