Click the donation link to join Rotarians and friends of Rotary to STOMP OUT POLIO to build awareness of World Polio Day on October 24th. Then post a quick video of yourself or friends stomping on a red balloon symbolizing the end of polio. Challenge 2 friends to join you in donating $25.00 to the cause and post their own video to create a ripple effect. With our Rotary District 5910 multiplier*, every $25 will end up to be $150!

I'm Your Name and I'm supporting The Rotary Foundation's efforts to #StompOutPolio by donating $25 dollars to the cause and I'm challenging Friend 1 Name and Friend 2 Name to do the same! We are #PeopleOfAction so Let's make #PolioHistory together. Donate at Rotary5910.org.

Polio is a preventable disease when children receive vaccinations. Rotary supports vaccination programs to prevent this paralyzing disease from re-emerging in polio-free countries in order to protect children everywhere from risk. Join me in donating $25 to the cause to #StompOutPolio. Let's #Connect to make #PolioHistory together. Donate at Rotary5910.org.

Did you know that Rotary has been working to make #PolioHistory since 1985? As #PeopleOfAction we have the capacity to #Transform lives and prevent this paralyzing disease through ongoing vaccination efforts. So Friends, I challenge you to join me and #StompOutPolio by donating $25 to the cause. Visit Rotary5910.org.

People in the United States forget about Polio even though children still get vaccinated for it today. My Mom/Dad/Friend/Colleague is a Polio survivor and I'm supporting the Rotary Foundation with a $25 donation in their honor. I challenge Friend1 and Friend 2 to do the same so we can #StompOutPolio together. Donate at Rotary5910.org.

Why End Polio?

Top 5 Reasons to End Polio Now

To end polio, we must stop transmission of the virus in the three countries where it remains endemic: Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan. We must also keep all other countries polio-free until we're certain it won't resurface. Up to 60 high-risk countries still operate large-scale immunization campaigns to protect children against polio. Learn more at EndPolioNow.org.
  1. To Improve Lives
    • 16 million people are walking today who would have otherwise been paralyzed.
  2. To Invest in the future
    • If polio isn't eradicated, within 10 years, as many as 200,000 children could be paralyzed by it each year.
  3. To Improve Child Health
    • Polio surveillance networks and vaccination campaigns also monitor children for other health problems like vitamin deficiency and measles, so they can be addressed sooner.
  4. To Save Money
    • A polio-free world will save the global economy $40-$50 billion in health costs within the next 20 years.
  5. To Make History
    • Polio eradication would be one of history's greatest public health achievements, with polio following smallpox to become only the second human disease eliminated from the world.

Global Polio Eradication Initiative

The Global Polio Eradication Initiative, formed in 1988, is a public-private partnership that includes Rotary, the World Health Organization, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UNICEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and governments of the world. Rotary’s focus is advocacy, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and awareness-building.
