Congrats to 19 clubs for adding 53 new members in the first 6 months of the Rotary year. Interestingly 66% of those 19 clubs had set club membership goals! However, due to some losses, the overall net new membership in the District is up 19 for a total of 1568. Take away: Goals work!! Goals increase the focus of leadership and club members and make it fun! If your club has not set it’s membership goal in MyRotary, please do so ASAP!!

Those clubs gaining membership the last 6 months include the following: BIG SANDY, CEDAR CREEK LAKE (+6), CLARKSVILLE, HENDERSON, JEFFERSON, KILGORE, LONGVIEW, MALAKOFF, MARSHALL (+6), MINEOLA, MT. VERNON, OVERTON, PITTSBURG, QUITMAN, SOUTH TYLER, TEXARKANA SUNRISE, TEXARKANA WILBUR SMITH, WEST BOWIE AND WILLS POINT.
According to Rotary’s latest Membership Minute, January sees a sharp increase in inquiries about joining Rotary. Club leaders are encouraged to make it a goal to FOLLOW UP with prospective members. TIP: consider generational or cultural communication preferences—some folks prefer phone calls while others would rather receive a text.
