After having to cancel the Parade in 2020, RCPC was eager to put the Parade back on the road, as were the residents of the Park Cities and all of the other spectators who come to enjoy it.
Over eighty club members took part in putting on and carrying out the Parade, headed up by PP Phillip Bankhead. This year’s theme, “United We Stand,” honored all of the health care workers who were so important during the pandemic and the service workers of the Park Cities who worked tirelessly during the very cold, snowy episode last winter. The Grand Marshals of the Parade were community leaders, Jim and Laurie Hitzelberger. Proceeds from the Parade went to the North Texas Food Bank which has been meeting increased demand due to the pandemic and resulting loss of work.

The Parade was livestreamed as it happened, with commentary by PP Ley Waggoner and Jeff Brady. The highlights were put into this short video, available at

The Park Cities People Newspaper wrote great articles about the Parade before the event and after with many photos of the community. The July article can be read at https://
www.peoplenewspapers.com/2021/07/05/2021-rotary-club-of-park-cities-fourthof-july-parade/. They say there will be more Parade photos in their August issue.
