Jimmy Doty, long-time member and past president of the Richardson Rotary Club, was honored on November 17 at the Richardson Chamber of Commerce EDGE Awards banquet with the Rotary Service Above Self award.
Current president of the Richardson Rotary Club Phil Nelson told the audience, "Jimmy Doty exemplifies all the tenets of the four-way test.  "Jimmy is always ready to offer services not only to Rotary but to his church and to other entities to which he belongs.  He stepped up to help with our Flag Program when the lead member was ill, and consistently goes above and beyond when anything is needed to help the club carry on our mission."

"Jimmy has served in several positions in Rotary including past President, and is always willing to fill in at a meeting when the President can’t be there.  There is no job in Rotary that he has ever been known to turn down.  In addition to serving as an officer of the club, he helps with service projects and all things Rotary.  For many years, he drove students who were going to RYLA.  He is knowledgeable about the work of Rotary and is always willing to help."

"Jimmy Doty is an example to our membership and community of selfless and humble service that is making a difference for Rotary and our community."
