For the past 100 years, the McKinney Rotary Club has served the community — both locally and worldwide — in ways that have made a positive impression on the community. “ I am so very grateful for our McKinney Rotary Club. They took a lead role in bringing the All-Abilities Playground Project to fruition, once again demonstrating their commitment to serve all in our community. Thank you Rotary! ,” said McKinney Mayor, George Fuller.

On Thursday, October 4, 2018, the McKinney club will celebrate its 100 th anniversary with a formal dinner at the Eldorado Country Club. This event will include a video presentation of the impact McKinney Rotary has had on the community, and is by invitation only.
“I am so proud to be associated with Rotary,” said Celeste Haiduk Cox, the McKinney club’s president. “We strengthen communities, promote peace, support literacy, provide scholarships, and help prevent diseases. Rotary makes a difference, and the McKinney club has done so for 100 years, making me honored to be this year’s president.” The McKinney Rotary Club was officially chartered on April 15, 1919. Today, it has 62 members who meet each Friday at noon at Rick’s Chophouse.

“ We are so fortunate to have a Rotary club that is active and engaged in our community,” says Lisa Hermes, President of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce. “ As they celebrate their centennial anniversary, it’s really a celebration of the dedicated men and women who roll up their sleeves and serve not only our community, but people and places around the world.”
