Spring has arrived.  The days are warmer, the trees are turning green, the flowers are blooming.  And my lawn is filled with dandelions!!! As of now, the State of Texas no longer has any restrictions on Covid-19 vaccinations for anyone 16 or older.  So, I ask, no encourage each of you to please get your shots…2 shots (unless the vaccine is Johnson and Johnson).
Trudy and I have had both shots with no real complications.  Please, please for the safety of yourself and others, reach out and get vaccinated.

April 10th it’s a very important date.  It’s the date of this year’s District Assembly, organized by our District Governor Elect, Max Duplant.  This is the half-day seminar that provides training to all of your club’s incoming officers…and those who would like to be an officer.  There are classes for President-Elects, President Nominees, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership, Foundation and Public Image.  The seminar will be virtual, it will be free and is currently open for registration.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to increase your understanding of Rotary International and how Clubs work.

April 10th would normally be the date for our April Roundtable, but since the District Assembly is the 10th, we have cancelled this month’s Roundtable.  The next District Roundtable will be Saturday, May 8th.  Please tune in and join the fun.

April 23rd and 24th are very important dates.  Friday, April 23 will be our All Club Luncheon.  I would like to see every club in the District represented AND with their Club Bell.  RI Director Suzi Howe will be our featured speaker.

Friday evening, we will honor our District’s Major Donors and Arch Klumph Society member with a reception.  It’s not too late to become a Major Donor or Arch Klumph Society member.  Just give me a call.
Saturday morning, April 24th, kicks off the District Conference where we will celebrate this past Rotary year.  Immediately following the conference will be the annual District Business meeting, then our great service project.  This year we will be creating hygiene kits for the homeless.  This is a great way to provide service for a truly worthwhile cause.
Finally, Saturday night will see the often cancelled, and long awaited Roaring 20s Gala supporting the Rotary Foundation.  Flappers, Gangsters, Zoot-Suits and all.

This year’s event will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott in Allen Texas (US75 and Stacy Road).  Conference registration is open as well as links to the hotel if you’d like to get a room.  We’ve made special arrangement with the hotel for reduced rates.

For President Elects, it’s not too early to begin planning your club’s installation of officers.  If you would like to have one of the Governor Train members (John Moser, Max Duplant, Howard Templin, John Curtis and Beverly Grogan) install your officers, now’s the time to ask.
