The Rotary Club of Dallas, in partnership with Faith Family Academy, the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, and Dallas Fire & Rescue, will hold their 19th Annual Bike Rodeo and Child Safety Day as an educational and entertaining morning on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 10am – 1pm. The event will be held at Faith Family Academy – Oak Cliff Campus.
The Bike Rodeo safety course will provide a safe environment for children to practice bicycle safety skills by riding on a course designed to simulate actual road conditions. The activities will help children become more aware of bicycle safety issues, while also teaching parents the importance of ensuring that children always use the safety equipment. Children will have the opportunity to explore a Dallas Fire and Rescue truck, meet the official Dallas Fire Department mascot, Sparky the Dog and take the “Safety Day Pledge.’ Children will be able to learn about fire safety through the Mobile Safety House. Children will be able to get their bikes inspected, and all children who participate in the Bike Rodeo safety course will receive a complimentary bike helmet safety course and a raffle ticket to enter to win a new bike of their choice. Over 40 new bikes of all sizes are planned to be given away. To ensure that these kids and their families stay to take advantage of all these benefits food and drinks will be available at no charge. To be able to educate these families on potentially lifesaving bike and fire safety and provide many of them with bicycles and helmets the Rotary Club of Dallas applied for and received a district grant of $3250. The grant programs, district and Foundation, are critical to our compassionate services to the community. It is essential and so worthwhile to support these funding programs that provide these grants.
