The 2016 District Conference is happening in several locations in Norman this year, from Friday April 29 until Sunday, May 1.

It is for all club members, from the first year members to club founders.

Agenda--The District Conference agenda has some new features this year.  There is optional training on Grants Management and Club Administration.  Plus we’ve added several events where you’ll experience the impact Rotarians have on future generations, their communities, and across the world.

  • The keynote speaker is PDG Shirley Grace from Fresno, California, District 5230, who participated in the Miles to End Polio bike ride to raise $ for the Rotary Polio campaign.
  • Clubs will talk about their 100th year, a milestone many of our district clubs are celebrating now or will in the next few years.
  • You’ll be able to sit down with many of our club members sharing the impact of their unique service projects, fundraisers and community events.
  • RYLA, Youth Exchange, Interact and Rotaract participants will testify to the impact these programs have on their lives.
  • At the Friday night Art Walk and Dinner you’ll select the winner of the People’s Choice $500 scholarship after viewing the top student poster art contest winning entries.
  • At the Sunday morning brunch and interfaith session, we welcome Dr. Charles Kimball, Presidential Professor and Director of Religious Studies at OU, and we’ll remember those Rotarians who passed away in the last year.
  • Rotarian family members can participate in the scavenger hunt to find as many as they can of large rubber duck statues in parks across the town.
  • Individual clubs and members will be recognized at the Saturday night banquet at Sam Noble Museum.  Donors to The Rotary Foundation will also be recognized, with this event replacing our former Bi-District Foundation Banquet.
