THE Burley Rotary Club School Supply Project
THE Burley Rotary Club was excited to gather together on August 31st to assemble school supplies to distribute among all eight of the elementary schools in Cassia County.

Originally, the Burley Rotary Club assembled backpacks and filled them with that year’s school supply lists.  However, other community organizations began to do something similar.  After talking with local school leadership, the Burley Rotary Club became aware of an even greater need that the schools had for specific supplies that they could have available after the school year started.  It was communicated that the schools where in dire need of a supply of additional backpacks (since the initial ones provided to the students had a tendency to wear out quickly), as well as also needing headphones, Expo dry erase markers, and sheet protectors to have on hand for access and use as the school year progressed.

Burley Rotarians were able to leverage the power of Rotary as “People of Action” to have several local businesses provide cash donations to help fund this project.  Their belief in local Rotarians to fulfill the community needs has resulted in them entrusting the Burley Rotary Club with thousands of dollars each year to help meet this great need in the local community.

This year, the Burley Rotary Club and the Rupert Rotary Club pooled their resources in order to help provide even more much needed school supplies.  It was a wonderful experience enjoyed by all as they came together to “Serve to Change Lives.”
