Rotary Helps Closet

The Rotary Helps Closet is a committee within the Pocatello Rotary Club that seeks to cloth those in need. With an emphasis on students and families of School District #25, the Closet has worked to ensure the local community has clean, fitting, and warm clothing.

 

This year has been a difficult one for many... With so many changes, regulations, and lockdowns, 2020 has been particularly trying, especially for the teachers, students, and families of School District #25. This holiday season, the Pocatello Rotary Club and the Rotary Helps Closet stepped up and donated in excess of $2,000.00 to fulfill the clothing needs of 56 students throughout the school district. Clothing was then distributed to the students through their designated Community Resource Workers.

 

In addition to the clothing for the SD#25 students, the Rotary Helps Closet has assisted several other causes during the year, including the donation of headphones, lice eradication supplies, and 21 jackets and coats to the local  "Wall of Warmth" coat drive. They were also able to donate over 60 winter clothing items to the Pocatello Women's Correctional Facility for use in their work release and community re-entry programs. The Closet is continuing to work with several other local agencies for clothing donations after the COVID-19 pandemic. They are always looking for new organizations to donate new and/or gently used clothing to!
