Rotary Club of Boise Metro was busy Bagging Snacks for the Community School Food Pantry!!
In February, Boise Metro Rotarians assembled 200 snack bags for the United Way’s Community School Food Pantry for distribution through the school coordinators to their Homeless and Low-Income Students.

This snack bag assembly project featured two different service “models”. Some Rotarians filled bags from the safety of their own home. They then dropped off their finished bags at our collection point. Other club members gathered in a large conference room for a team assembly line approach!

What is a “snack bag”? This is a convenient grab bag that Community School Coordinators can give to students to supplement their nutritional needs. It consists of 5-6 snack items and a bottle of water. The snack items are a 50%/50% blend of protein oriented and non-protein-oriented items. They are contained in a gallon-size Ziploc bag which the students can reuse for other purposes.
