Importance of Annual Fund-SHARE to Us
Annual Fund-SHARE (aka Paul Harris) is The Rotary Foundation funding source of district grants.

At the start of each Rotary year in July, the Foundation makes available to the district 25% of its members’ Annual Fund-SHARE contributions from three years prior.  The district can apply for a single block grant up to that amount for distribution to the clubs who apply. That amount for 2022-23 is $53,863.

If the current fiscal year ended today, May 30th, we would have only $43,555 (25% of total contributions) available for the block grant in 2024-25.  YIKES! We need $47,782 to be contributed to Annual Fund-SHARE by D5400 clubs and Rotarians before June 30, 2022, just to have block grant money in three years equal to what we’re working with now!  The more we give, the more we get.  Our model for district grants limits your club request to $1251 during this grant cycle if your club’s giving to Annual Fund-SHARE was less than $100 per capita in the funding year, and the policy of giving greater access to grants to clubs with higher per capita donations will continue.

Now is the time to send your contributions to Annual Fund-SHARE of The Rotary Foundation to make our district grants program stronger in three years.     As of this writing, 60% of the D5400 clubs had applied for a district grant for 2022-23.  Yet only 52% of district Rotarians had made a $25 or more contribution to the Fund.  What can you do to help?

Contributions to specific areas of focus in the Annual Fund including Disaster Response, to the Endowment Fund and to PolioPlus are restricted, and they do not provide any funding for district grants.
