Biggest COVID-19 Avoiding Fundraiser
La Plata County Rotary clubs shared a fun event that had by thinking outside the box! Enjoy!
The four Rotary Clubs in La Plata County (Durango, High Noon, Pine River Centennial, Durango Daybreak) just held their biggest COVID-19 avoiding fundraiser ever in a creative new format. Instead of big red exercise balls we went with red golf balls and a beautifully built indoor track set up in Alpine Bank’s lobby, our lead sponsor.
The Rotary Clubs of La Plata County wish to thank our sponsors and everyone who participated in the 19th Annual Redball Express.
There were 5,990 ticket adoptions resulting in $29,950 to be shared by the community. All expenses of the event including prize money was paid for by the generous contributions of our sponsors.
The event was streamed live with United Way hosting and all the clubs took turn in the spotlight sharing their projects and inviting visitors to come learn more about Rotary. Nonprofits selected by United Way to participate also sold tickets to help them provide essential community services.
