ALL Rotarians and their families are invited to attend the 2016 District Conference at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, between Butte and Anaconda, on April 22 & 23.  On Friday morning at 9:00 AM, enjoy a fascinating Mining History Tour with Rotarian and Butte Historian, Floyd Bossard.  Sign up is available when you register on-line.  Mr. Bossard will provide a 30 minute lecture at the Butte Chamber of Commerce building that includes a look at the size of the Butte mineral deposits, an introduction into the origin and mineralogy of the Butte ores, and what has been involved in mining and refining the ores from underground to open pit with a conclusion focusing on mining's future in Butte.  See the history up close as you enjoy your trolley ride around the Butte historic mining district.  All for only $15.00 per person.  Or you can help out with a Rotary Service Project after the Conference on Sunday morning when we will clean up around the World Museum of Mining and plant trees.  Meet at the museum, just west of the Montana Tech campus, located at 155 Mining Museum Road, Butte, MT at 10 AM.  People who participate will receive free admission to the Museum right after the project.
