Pageant of the Arts Finals

Hello Pageant of the Arts Contestants and Rotarians,

The Annual Rotary District 5280, Pageant of the Arts is around the corner this Saturday!  We are looking forward to seeing your performances. We’re thrilled to be able to hold the contest in person again. We’ll see you at the Glendale Salvation Army May 7, 2022.

Your judges are professional artists in the venues presented today as well as some Rotarians, dedicated to inspiring young artists. 

There are four areas of the competition taking place nearly simultaneously. We will all begin in the chapel at 1:00 pm for the opening ceremony then disperse to the gym (dance), chapel (speech and music), conference room and hall (art). So, please arrive on time, and know your performance order (to follow this week.)

Parking: parking is available in the Salvation Army lot as well as the street.

The winners will be announced on the same day.  1st place winners will be asked to perform their piece again. Note: Contestants are responsible for providing their own instruments, accompanist or instrumental recording if used as background music for performance. PLEASE contact Sharon Townsend (shar.townsend or text (818) 359-2752 to let her know why type of media you are using for the dance accompaniments. In the chapel, a piano will be available as well as microphones and speakers.

General Timeline for Saturday:

12:00-12:45 pm - Sign-In 

1:00 pm - Opening Ceremony **

1:00 pm – Speech Competition in the Chapel immediately following opening ceremony

1:00 pm – Art Competition to be judged in the conference room and hall immediately following opening ceremony

1:00 pm – Dance Competition in the Gym immediately following the opening ceremony

2:00 pm - Music Competition in the Chapel

Instrumentalists will compete first followed by Vocalists

*Certificates of Participation and Group Photos will be taken directly after performances conclude. 

**Music – please stay in the chapel following the opening ceremony in order to listen to the speech contestants.
