A good friend and mentor for many in District 5060 has passed away, past RI director for our Zone (24/32), and Past RI Vice President Monty Audenart (from District 7820).  Monty has on at least two occasions served as the RI President's representative at our District conferences, and last year he was the aide to RI President Ron Burton.  Just prior to the start of that year, he was diagnosed with cancer, which turned out to be untreatable.  Monty died on January 21, and was buried in his home town of Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday the 27th.

He had prepared a message to be sent to friends after his death, and it reads:

My dear friends,
This is just a short message to let you know that I have "simply gone home." While the Spirit is strong, and I would have loved to stay longer, I have had to lay my body down and walk through the next door.  But then, life is really all about how we live it, and less about how long we have lived.  I am lucky to have lived a grand life in the time that I had.  I have been blessed to have a wonderful family, and so many good friends like you. Thank you for being part of my life, and for the many experiences and fun times we shared and the lessons you have taught me.  I will surely miss you, but have faith that in due time we shall meet again.  Please pray for my family, and know that I am not too far away.
Monty
