Hands of Peace

Hands of Peace (HOP) is an interfaith organization that empowers young people to raise their voices as leaders of change.  Each summer, HOP brings together groups of young Palestinians, Israelis and Americans, aged 15-19, in Chicago and San Diego for dialogue-based programs led by professional facilitators that allow the participants to share personal stories about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has affected them and discover strategies to foster peace, equality and justice in the region. Sarah Heirendt is the HOP San Diego Site Director and oversees the San Diego summer program and other San Diego-based projects. She has a BA from Vanguard University and an MS George Mason University.
