Please join us for a night of laughs at Pintello Comedy Theater's "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee", a hilarious musical comedy where adults play the kids and the audience members participate in the bee! This will be a closed event for our group only, Rotarians and friends. Tickets are $35 and include heavy appetizers and desserts, beer, wine, coffee and soft drinks. Casey Lucius is an Professor of Theater Security Decision Making in the Department of National Security Affairs at the Naval War College in Monterey, CA. Lucius came to the War College from the Naval Postgraduate School where she designed and taught courses on U.S. foreign policy and Asian studies. She also taught courses on culture and U.S.-Vietnam relations at the Hanoi University of International Studies. Prior to her academic work, Lucius worked for the State Department as the Operations Assistant to the Ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam. She also spent nearly a decade in service as a Naval Intelligence officer which included a staff tour at COMPACFLT in Hawaii and a tour on the USS JOHN C. STENNIS, CVN. In 2003, Lucius worked as the intelligence liaison between the U.S. Navy and the navies of Thailand, South Korea, Singapore and Japan. She also worked as a legislative aide in the Ohio House of Representatives.
Lucius earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Hawaii in 2007 and her M.A. in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2002. She is also a graduate of the Naval War College and Ashland University. She has conducted research in China and Vietnam and has published a book titled Vietnam’s Political Process: How Education Shapes Decision Making (Routledge Press, 2009). Lucius serves on several boards and is the co-founder of a non-profit that focuses on humane education in developing countries.
