From Rotary District 5370 Governor Betty Screpnik:

It pleases me to announce that Rotary International 2013-14 President Ron Burton and Jetta will visit Red Deer, the home city of Monty Audenart, Aide to RI President 2013-14 and Trustee of the Rotary Foundation 2013-14 on May 2nd, 2014.

There will be a dinner event and program in Red Deer with President Ron as the guest speaker.  This event will be primarily for District 5370 Rotarians and the Northern part of District 5360.  All Rotarians are welcome.  Detailed plans are being developed as I write this memo to you.  The hope is that several hundred Rotarians, partners and potential Rotarians will turnout to personally meet our International leader and hear his message.  It is my hope we can include Youth in some manner in Red Deer.

There are 534 Districts in the world so we are privileged that the President this year has chosen to add a visit that would include District 5370 as it his desire to reach out to as many Rotarians as possible in this year.  This will be the second consecutive year in District 5370 that we will have the opportunity to shake the hand of our RI President.  That is special!

On Saturday May 3, the President will spend the afternoon and evening in Calgary.  The Calgary Club is planning a series of events culminating with a Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Calgary on the evening of May 3.  Perhaps some members of the Rotary club of Edmonton would attend, as 2016 is your year to celebrate.

Stay tuned, I will give you details as they develop.  For now, hold the date, May 2, 2014 so we can show President Ron and his wife Jetta District 5370 is Engaging Rotary and Changing Lives.
